Stressful, but relieved. My semester finally comes to a close.

That's basically all the work I made this semester. Even though half of it is on here already, they look pretty cool all together... I'm not really that proud of it though... I'm kinda disappointed in myself, and some of the comments I got from my reviewers weren't very uplifting XDDD

Last semester, I got a really encouraging review, and was told I needed to work on my backgrounds, narrative, compositions, and p.o.v....and how I could experiment and apply that to my work. I really struggled this semester to apply that. I tried really hard, but I'm still really not that happy in the end with the outcome... I don't know, I might be being too hard on myself, but I'm still not satisfied, I don't think I ever will be. I always have these internal battles with myself :<

Today, I got the same exact opinions and comments out of all 3 people who reviewed me. "you need to draw different types of people" times 3. That's it ._. I already know I need to work on that, I got told that earlier in the semester when we had our 'sketchbook reviews'... Grrrr... I DO like criticism, I was just hoping for something not so obvious. More like, all the things I'm CLEARLY still weak at, and how to fix it. ._. asjdjfgkghkjndsldslkmg One of my teachers said my human figure skills are beyond sophomore level right now..(stuff you guys haven't seen XD; ) but that pisses me off, because I want to be able to do more than pretty portraits and people. I'm just pissed because I've always focused on people, because I love nothing more than drawing people. I have always had this intense fascination and innate obsession with drawing them. But now I'm developing new interests, and I want to be good at other things too, like perspective, landscapes, nature, animals, transportation, the stuff I've already mentioned, etc....

I was completely stumped too, by this one comment, "Your digital finishes are much better than you traditional ones" WHEN THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN D: ? Last semester I was practically told by a teacher I shouldn't even use digital as a medium anymore LOL D: akwarddddd XDDD It's like I improve in one aspect but fucking fall hard and behind in another DX

LOLOLOL.It's probably become apparent to you now that I'm generally always pissed at my work XD; But ONE of the thing that murders me on the inside, is my visual communication skills. My teacher explained that even if you draw good, you still need to be able to visually communicate... And when I hear that stuff. I sink into my chair and want to cry XDDDDD I'am far from being a strong visual communicator. I really need to work on that.

I'am sooo emo right now XDXD... I still have 3 essays to write and Anime boston is next weekend and I still have a very small amount of artwork XDDDDDD :<<<< blah blahaka

But either way, I overall think I've come a long way this semester. I fucking tried my best to incorporate backgrounds, something I've been terrified of forever, into my work. And I'm glad I finally feel like I can. I CAN DO IT >: D

I'll just have to suck it up and practice really hard this summer!
